About Mountain View Community School

Mountain View Community School has been providing a unique educational opportunity for families in central Vermont since 1987. Our school was established by a group of parents who shared a vision and philosophy: a child-centered education with parents and teachers as partners. Since our founding, we have grown to serve students from preschool through eighth grade, enriching each child’s learning experience with an integrated, theme-driven curriculum.

Students of all ages are encouraged to become self-motivated learners, augmenting structured assignments with guided exploration into areas of their own interest. Our ongoing commitment to maintaining small classes ensures that our students receive the attention and support they need to achieve their full potential.

Our intimate setting provides a safe, nurturing place where each child’s unique abilities and learning styles are recognized and valued. Using a variety of proven, innovative educational models, students are stimulated, challenged, and excited about learning. Each student’s program is unique to her/himself, being the product of thorough assessment and creative planning with teachers, parents, and students. Our students leave us as self-directed, responsible, and enthusiastic learners.
